Let the community decide

Join our Campaign to bring back our local councils!

Dear NSW Parliament,

We call on every NSW MP to commit to legislation that allows residents to vote in a binding de-merger plebiscite in any council that has been forced to merge by the Baird Government.

If a majority of residents support their council standing alone, then the law must provide for a council to be reinstated and a de-merger to occur at the soon as possible.

We make this demand because we believe that the community -- residents and local businesses-- not Mike Baird,  should decide the future of their local councils.

I object to paying my rates to an “administrator” who works for the Libersl party, given “we” rejected that party at the ballo boxt. Our rates might be used for WestConnex, or some other nafarious conservative cause. Should we set up a trust fund??

We feel very strongly about this and I have been turning over in my mind the idea of a withholding rates (to go into escrow) - “no taxation without representation sort of thing”- but then it could be said that if we vote for councillors on amalgamated councils, we are being represented….so I wonder whether this is or is not a good idea.

Mr Baird may still regard himself as Premier of NSW, but he is merely the figurehead of a criminal group. His Party Of Organised Crime And Terrorism (POOCAT) has proven itself unfit to govern by its consistent and gross misuse of power and abuse of the public trust. It’s time for NSW to have a double dissolution election, followed by a Royal Commission into the criminal activities of Baird and POOCAT.
