Local sporting grants - applications close 11 Feb

Local sports grant link Applications for the NSW Government's Local Sport Grant Program close on Thursday 11 February 2016. All applications must be made online and late applications are not accepted.

Jamie is a keen and strong advocate for sporting clubs in the Balmain electorate and broader inner west, and remains passionately committed to ensuring, in action not just words, that we have more quality sporting fields and  active recreation in our local area to meet both current and future demand. Increasing participation in sport and active recreation has significant benefits for individuals and the whole community.

Grants are available to incorporated, non-profit sports clubs. There are four grant categories.

The four grant categories are:

 - Sport Club Development - maximum grant amount $2,000
 - Community Sport Events - maximum $5,000
 - Sport Access - maximum $5,000
 - Facility Development and Capital Equipment - maximum $25,000

Organisations  need to make their own contribution to the project: financial contribution, use of voluntary labour, donated materials/equipment will all be considered. The project must start within six months of successful grants being announced (that may take up to three months) and be completed within 18 months.  A detailed list of FAQ can be found here

Non-profit clubs only succeed with generous time and engergy commitment from volunteers. If any club needs assistance with the grant application, have questions, or just want to talk over the suitability of your project, please give Jamie's office a call on 9660 7586.
