Mates on the Move graduate

I was very honoured to be invited to the first Mates on the Move graduation ceremony.

Mates on the Move is a social enterprise of Prisoners Aid, training and assisting ex-prisoners back into the workforce.

The biggest challenge faced by ex-offenders is getting a job to enable them to gain income, housing, establishing new networks and move forward with their lives. Mates on the Move helps with training and employment for ex-offenders in the growing transport industry.

It was great the meet and chat with the graduates. Congratulations and well done!

    Jamie,

It was great to have you at the event on the 24th March. The graduating Mates were very appreciative of the your time and the interest you took in their personal situations. You’ll be pleased to know that both participants who had been sleeping rough while participating in the second program graduating on 21st July are now in stable accommodation. One is four weeks into a 3-days per week job, the other is regularly employed by the Mates on the Move removalist social enterprise.

I know the hours you spent at the ceremonies and barbecue following played an important part in getting them over the line.

    Many thanks for being there!
