Read more on Jamie's record to save the Powerhouse
Dear Premier,
I am writing to strongly protest against the sale of the Powerhouse building in Ultimo to property developers. This building is an integral part of Sydney’s unique landscape and should be kept for the public to enjoy.
The Powerhouse Museum is an important part of the city’s cultural life, and to see the building converted into apartments and taken away from the community is a disaster for all Australians.
Nationally significant buildings should be kept in public hands to ensure their preservation and long-term public use, rather than sold off to the highest bidder.
Yours sincerely,

Speaking personally, my husband worked in the Powerhouse and later when it became a museum my daughter worked there.
Please rethink this foolish proposal.

Who knows about them, where are the street banners the ads???
Other than this there is the permanent collections and also so much on for children. The new entrances, the Goods Line and the whole area coming alive would make it a must go place. The Museum seems to be it’s own worse enemy, they hardly need the Government to get rid of them to Parramatta.
We can reverse our gifting of some rare artworks to the Museum – they should be accessible to everyone, and another’s friends important collection gifted – he should ask for it to be returned or re-gifted etc ? Need to get legal advice on this.
