THE GREENS' PLAN FOR A LIVEABLE SYDNEY
It's clear from feedback we're receiving that people are disappointed successive state governments have waved through overdevelopment, failed to invest in public transport and have done nothing about overcrowded schools.
We've also seen the corrosive influence of big developers and vested interests in the Liberal and Labor parties, as exposed by the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
Jamie Parker is committed to protecting what makes our community special, and ensuring NSW plans for the long-term.
This means...
STOPPING OVERDEVELOPMENT We must ensure Sydney is protected from bad planning by private developers concerned only with their profit, rather than providing NSW with what it needs. Affordable housing, green spaces, childcare centres, public transport and sporting facilities are all key to create a liveable city.
INVESTING IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT Jamie Parker is working to extend light rail along Parramatta Road from the CBD to Strathfield, as well as a branch to the Balmain peninsula. The Liberal and Labor plan for the polluting WestConnex tollroad will be a disaster for Sydney.
INVESTING IN EDUCATION Our local area desperately needs a new primary school to address overcrowding. We must also prioritise resourcing existing public schools and restore TAFE funding. A strong public education system is key to investing in the next generation and building a fair, successful and cohesive society.

FIGHT CORRUPTION IN NSW POLITICS
In his second term as the Member for Balmain, you can count on Jamie Parker to continue to stand up as a strong, independent voice in the middle of Parliament – rather than just another MP from the old parties, under the sway of the factions.
