Public meeting on Ballast Point Park

Last week 18 healthy, mature trees were cut down at Ballast Point Park.
Property NSW - who owns and manages the park - had planned to remove 47 trees without notifying the local community or consulting wildlife experts. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Thanks to a swift community response they have delayed the removal of the remaining trees and committed to consult with residents.
I'll be holding a public meeting to give residents in Birchgrove a chance to have their say and discuss how we can improve the overall management of Ballast Point Park in a way that includes the community.
We need trees to clean the air, provide shade, reduce heat and create habitat for wildlife. This is our chance to make sure Property NSW gets the management of Ballast Point Park right and does everything possible to preserve mature, healthy trees on site.
Register to attend the meeting at 5pm on Monday 1 November. We will send you a Zoom link before the meeting starts.
