Better ferry services for Balmain
Sydney is lucky enough to be home to a marvellous public ferry network that makes getting around our beautiful harbour quick and affordable.
But Sydney Ferries is proposing changes to the F4, F3 and F8 routes in 2021 that will make it more difficult for passengers travelling from Balmain and Birchgrove Wharves to get into the city.
While the proposal would increase the frequency of services across the inner west during peak hours and on weekends, it would also abolish the direct service between Balmain, Milsons Point, McMahon’s Point and Circular Quay.
Instead, passengers travelling from Balmain will have to change ferries at Balmain East to connect to Circular Quay and north Sydney. For school kids and commuters this could mean longer travel times.
Sign the petition to tell the Minister for Transport to make our ferries more frequent without removing this vital cross-harbour connection.
Ferries are a vital form of public transport for people living on the Balmain Peninsula. We need more frequent services but that should not come at the cost of a direct connection between Balmain, Circular Quay and the north shore.
Please reconsider the ferry route changes proposed for 2021.
