Callan Park Master Plan petition

Dear Premier,

The NSW government was presented with the Callan Park Master Plan over three years ago. It was developed by Leichhardt Council with the community, and was designed to protect, preserve and promote the historic Callan Park site.

I am calling on the government to implement the award winning Callan Park Master Plan which would see this wonderful parkland be preserved as a place for recreation, relaxation and mental health recovery. The lack of any decision by the government is very concerning for our community.

It is with only with a Trust within the properly funded Master Plan that the future of Callan park will be secure. I encourage you to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

    Please leave Callan Park for the people, a green space by the harbour to be enjoyed by the future generatioms. C. Shepehrd. PS Note I am 78 and daily walk from leichhardt to rozelle via Callan Park.Please do not destroy our park or let greedy developers get their grubby hands on it.

    Callan Park definitely must be protected and the green space replenished and turned back into forests as they were.

    I do support this – but I do also support the continuation of the occupancy of Sydney College of the Arts. I study there and I think using the park but not overdeveloping is excellent

    We used to live in Fred Street and I am still a member of Friends of Callan Park and in the past have been active in fighting to preserve it. It is vital that this parkland is saved and the master plan implemented – just look at everything that is going on in the area. We must plan and preserve this gem for our future generations.
