GreenWay parliamentary debate set for 31 May 2012

Greens MP Jamie Parker was today presented with a 10,000 signature petition supporting the GreenWay, from representatives of local councils and the Friends of the GreenWay community group.

The petition will be debated by Parliament on 31 May 2012.

"I'm delighted to have been involved in such an important community campaign. After over a decade of community campaigning, this is important in ensuring that we keep pressure on the government to build the GreenWay," Mr Parker said.

"The presentation of these signatures is the culmination of many months of hard work by community members and local groups. The government must now act.

"I would like to congratulate all the dedicated supporters who have been involved in this campaign, particularly the Friends of the GreenWay," Mr Parker said.
