The Liberal State Government is proposing an enormous overdevelopment of our local community which will make public transport less accessible, overwhelm local services and impose up to 12-storey buildings in residential streets. The projected population is likely to increase ten-fold.

Premier Mike Baird is threatening NSW councils to amalgamate or else.

Mr JAMIE PARKER (Balmain) [12.14 p.m. November 12, 2015]: The people in my electorate care deeply about human rights. 

WILL YOU HELP SAVE LEICHHARDT COUNCIL?
So far most Councils are resisting the Premier's latest attempt at bullying by refusing to "voluntarily" amalgamate before a 18 November deadline.

It was another big week in Parliament: taking a stand against the erosion of civil rights in the anti-terror legislation, opposing WestConnex, promoting proper planning in the Bays Precinct and the Parramatta Road corridor, opposing the privatisation of the Powerhouse Museum, fighting corruption and raising concerns about the impact of new Strata Laws on vulnerable residents.

The WestConnex M4 East Environmental Impact Statement [“EIS”] is currently on public exhibition until 2 November and I urge you to make a submission.

As you know, I have been leading the charge on political donations reform and fighting corruption. 

In a highly anticipated decision, the High Court of Australia has found that NSW laws which ban specific classes of political donors are constitutionally valid.

Mr JAMIE PARKER (Balmain) [12.46 p.m.]: A few weeks ago, on the steps of this historic Parliament House, I accepted a petition of more than 10,000 signatures calling for the Parramatta Female Factory to be nominated for UNESCO World Heritage listing and for the site to be managed in line with the Burra Charter.

CAMPAIGN SUMMARY
