Auditor General confirms ICAC’s funding model threatens independence

The Auditor General’s Special Report into ‘The effectiveness of the financial arrangements and management practices in four integrity agencies’ released today, has confirmed that annual funding for NSW integrity agencies, including the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), is a threat to their independence.

NSW Greens anti-corruption spokesperson Jamie Parker has called on the NSW Government to back proposals by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) for increased and independent funding.

The NSW Minister for Planning has committed to develop a model for community and stakeholder involvement in the Greater Sydney Parklands agency following concerns raised by Jamie Parker MP that Callan Park could be lost within the new mega agency.

I am pleased to join the Minister at Callan Park to announce that we have secured an immediate $10 million funding commitment for the site. 

This record $10 million funding will be used to deliver the Landscape Structure Plan which aims to make Callan Park a more beautiful and useable space by restoring heritage buildings and landscapes.
