CBP grants openCommunity Building Partnership grants now open!
I'm delighted to advise that the NSW Community Building Partnership grants program opened this week.

If you are involved in an incorporated non-profit organisation with an infrastructure project (to build or improve facilities) that needs some funding, then I encourage you to quickly check out www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au or call my office on 9660 7586. Applications close on 7 August, and late applications are not accepted.

I am hosting an information evening at 6pm Tuesday 14 July at the Annandale Neighbourhood Centre. Everyone is welcome - come along and find out what's involved in submitting an application.

Sam.jpgTHANK YOU SAM
A huge thank you to Senior Constable Sam Donni, who’s been the youth case worker with Glebe’s PCYC for the past 12 years, and is taking up a new position as the crime prevention officer at Kings Cross LAC. Sam is an outstanding contributor to our community, and his commitment to helping young people is inspiring. Farewell Sam, and it’s been an immense pleasure working with you. ANOTHER CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON PARRAMATTA ROAD
Following criticism from myself and others, the Government has announced a further six months of community consultation on the draft renewal strategy for Parramatta Road after UrbanGrowth NSW initially released a flimsy community feedback report.

As it stands, the draft strategy proposes rampant and unsustainable growth for our community, with proposals for 10,000 apartments. In addition, UrbanGrowth has failed to identify public transport, community facilities, parks and childcare centres to support these residential developments.

Please work with me to make sure your voice is heard on these plans, and that the community is engaged and consulted on any development along Parramatta Road. You can keep an eye on the planning and consultation process here and I will also keep you updated on opportunities to have your say.

JULY DEADLINES FOR BAYS PRECINCT PUBLIC COMMENTS AND SUBMISSIONS

With the government fast-tracking large infrastructure projects, it’s more important than ever to make sure the public interest is protected, especially for the Bays Precinct.

There are two approaching deadlines to submit your comments on the Bays Precinct to UrbanGrowth NSW, the government’s property development arm:
- July 10 for comment on the ‘Transforming City Living: The Bays Precinct’ discussion paper
- July 20 for the ‘Call for Great Ideas’ for the Bays Precinct
