Save Wentworth Park

We need to tell the government that Wentworth Park should be kept as an open space for people, not built over for profit.

The government and their developers are eyeing Wentworth Park for redevelopment as part of the Bays Precinct.

Please sign the petition to ask Premier Berejiklian to keep Wentworth Park safe from developers:

Dear Premier,

I urge you to protect Wentworth Park from development by handing it back to the City of Sydney, and expand recreation and sporting facilities in the area, which is already one of the most densely populated in Australia.

I was astonished to listen on Sydney radio recently to a proponent of (over) development, gushing with almost religious ecstacy in favour of developing greater Sydney to accommodate a proposed estimated population of 8 million or more.

It seems to me that a serious attempt to educate the general population to this insidious danger should be undertaken immediately.

Such a massive overpopulation must and would result in the destruction of this city and environs as an acceptable place fit for civilized human habitation.

It is probable that the proponents of such massive density of population would likely be found to be representative of the vested interests, that would profit from such massive works entailed.

in an over crowded city centre this park is needed and utilised. any person in their right mind would not be seeking to do away with this green space and create yet another ghetto of high rise with no room for social interaction. This park provides a place for so many activities, an open space, a buffer in a high density living city of a little bit of nature.
