Save Wentworth Park

We need to tell the government that Wentworth Park should be kept as an open space for people, not built over for profit.

The government and their developers are eyeing Wentworth Park for redevelopment as part of the Bays Precinct.

Please sign the petition to ask Premier Berejiklian to keep Wentworth Park safe from developers:

Dear Premier,

I urge you to protect Wentworth Park from development by handing it back to the City of Sydney, and expand recreation and sporting facilities in the area, which is already one of the most densely populated in Australia.

    We need more open space, not less. We need parks for recreation and sports. I have played football for several decades, the clubs are crying out for more fields to play on. Pocket parks are good, but not for playing sport. Football, rugby, touch footy, jogging, cricket, netball anything that gets kids off the couch and onto a field.

    Wentworth Park makes a significant contribution to the amenity of the Bays Precinct – more so as the local population grows.

    We need to save what little parkland we have in the inner city and not develop it.I am in favour of a new fish markets, but definitely not the loss of Wentworth Park to development.
