Submission to Select Committee on the Greater Sydney Parklands Trust Bill 2021

The NSW Parliament is considering a proposed law to wind back protections contained in the Callan Park Act that prevent the commercialisation and privatisation of our park.

The law has passed the Lower House of NSW Parliament - I was able to secure some important changes - but the law still needs to go through the Upper House.

Over the summer a parliamentary committee is reviewing the new law in detail before a vote is taken in the Upper House.

This committee process is our best chance to convince MPs in the Upper House that locals want to protect greenspace across Sydney including Callan Park.
