Ultimo Defend TAFE Forum

It was great to speak about the importance that a well-funded and publicly owned institution such as TAFE NSW plays in our state.

I was joined by Greens MLC and TAFE spokesperson Dawn Walker, who talked about her recent tour of regional and rural TAFE campuses across NSW and the threats they face.

Additionally, it was great to hear from Teachers Federation spokesperson Maxine Sharkey about her tireless advocacy for TAFE teachers and from Ultimo TAFE student, Matthew Thompson about the negative impact that the funding cuts are having on his ability to succeed in his studies.

You can be assured I'll continue to stand up for publicly owned and accessible education across both Balmain and the state.

Thanks to everyone who made the time to come along and if you'd like to get more involved in the campaign you can check out Dawn's site here.
