WIN: 500 kerbside EV charging points coming

For many of us in the inner west with no garage and no off-street parking, EVs are off-limits until there are more public charging facilities.

As you know, I have been pushing the NSW Government to fix this problem. I’m thrilled that they have finally committed $10 million to co-fund 500 kerbside charging points across the state.

This win hasn’t happened by accident.

It is the result of more than 1,600 petition signatures, multiple meetings with the Minister for Energy, as well as questions and motions in NSW Parliament.

Thank you to every single person who backed our campaign.

Your support has sent a powerful message that the government’s Electric Vehicle Strategy needs to accommodate people living in the inner west who don't have off-street parking and can't make an EV work without ample kerbside charging.

This win is a great start but our work isn’t done.

Australia is still lagging behind when it comes to electric vehicles. I’m committed to keeping the State Government on track with its Electric Vehicle Strategy and encouraging the Federal Government to get moving on a national plan.

Thank you again for supporting this important environmental and social initiative.
