Harold Park development – submissions close 17 October

Following last weekend's packed public meeting on the Harold Park development, Greens MP Jamie Parker is urging residents to ensure their concerns are considered by the City of Sydney Council.

"This is one of the biggest and most significant urban developments in Glebe for many years. I encourage residents to make submissions to the Council regarding Mirvac's Development Application for the site.

"The Greens have a strong record of supporting quality development which is appropriate and respects local residents.

"The current development proposal for Harold Park includes over 1200 dwellings in addition to large scale retail space. The development will also create over 700 additional vehicle movements per hour in peak periods.

"I am concerned that a range of issues have not been adequately addressed including traffic impacts assessments, concerns about bulk, scale and density, and the lack of affordable housing," said Mr Parker.

More than 100 local residents attended Mr Parker's public meeting last weekend in Glebe, expressing particular concern that the development would create traffic gridlock.
