Parker campaigns to save Glebe police station

Greens MP Jamie Parker has welcomed the withdrawal by NSW Police of the controversial development application for a "super police station” in Derbyshire Rd, Leichhardt.

"

"This is a positive step forward. This development would have meant the sale of Glebe police station. We now have the opportunity to save Glebe police station and improve important police services for our community.

"The police do great work within our community, often with limited resources and under significant pressure.

"We need to retain police services in our community and improve their resources rather than centralising services into poorly planned super stations which have significant negative impacts.

"This is an opportunity for proper community consultation to occur. We must ensure that any new police station will be appropriately designed and located and will not result in the removal of vital community police services," said Mr Parker.
