FRUSTRATED shopkeepers have been forbidden to sell, or top up, Opal cards even though they are just metres from one of the inner west’s busiest bus stops.
Balmain state Greens MP Jamie Parker has urged the authorities to reconsider Mr Bokany’s application.
“The Government should be encouraging the use of public transport rather than impeding it by imposing such nonsensical policies on to local businesses,” Mr Parker said.
“(Opal) should be widely available and not restricted to a few locations in each suburb.”
