Save Wentworth Park

We need to tell the government that Wentworth Park should be kept as an open space for people, not built over for profit.

The government and their developers are eyeing Wentworth Park for redevelopment as part of the Bays Precinct.

Please sign the petition to ask Premier Berejiklian to keep Wentworth Park safe from developers:

Dear Premier,

I urge you to protect Wentworth Park from development by handing it back to the City of Sydney, and expand recreation and sporting facilities in the area, which is already one of the most densely populated in Australia.

I live directly opposite Wentworth Park and see how it is used every day of the week by a wide variety of people, from dog walkers to soccer players. It would be a lifestyle tragedy for many people to lose this open space.

The area around Pyrmont/Glebe/ Ultimo is amongst the most densely populated in Australia. Already there is not enough green space. Do not take some of it away

I lived in Sydney growing up and Callan Park was important to me. My father in law worked there as Administrator for many years. I remember going there for sporting events as a schoolgirl.

We need all the land we can save for the future. Congratulations on saving Callan Park. Should have been Aboriginal dancers and smoking ceremony at police graduation in Goulburn. They had Highland pipers. Why do they hate Aboriginals? Is it the black skin? I have coloured skin too. Do they hate me?

With the large increase in housing, there needs to be open space for recreation and sporting activities – lungs for the city.
