Our campaign to expose the huge number of developments being proposed for our local area has been boosted by excellent media coverage in the last few weeks.
- Yesterday I spoke to ABC Local Radio Breakfast about the Bays Precinct (I come in at 2:20:55);
- The Sun Herald covered the Sydney Fish Market redevelopment earlier in Jan; and
- Last week we had a piece in the Sun Herald on Glebe Island.
I'm concerned that the government is pushing a number of ad hoc industrial and residential developments independently of one another without any consideration of their cumulative impact on our community or wider Sydney.
This includes the redevelopment of the Sydney Fish Market (which includes a plan for up to 2,700 new apartments in Pyrmont), the proposal for a casting plan at White Bay to supply the Western Harbour Tunnel, and the proposal for a multi-user facility at Glebe Island.
I've been working with local residents to protect the liveability of our local area and this media coverage has provided a high profile boost for our campaign.
