Q: Any other comments you'd like to make?
A: Unhygienic, distracting and dangerous. Everybody knows that every second sentence spoken by a dog owner is addressed loudly to the dog: What about the customers allergic to dog hair? Who will be sued when a customer falls over a dog or leash? No, I don’t hate dogs but I don’t need to eat with them.

Q: Any other comments you'd like to make?
A: Dogs in public places add a great deal of social amenity and comfort and contribute to conversation and socialising – particularly in a pub. I would love to see the restrictive laws regarding dogs in cafes and restaurants relaxed.

A: I couldn’t agree more with Anna Luck’s comment below! Please let business owners decide. Then customers can make up their own choices whether or not to patronise those businesses. Well known doggie pubs/cafes are losing business because of this stupid rule!

A: So long as the dogs are kept restrained and under control then it should be allowed at the State (or Local) level to leave it up to the business owner’s discretion. Everyone knows that fully socialised dogs in pubs contribute to the general amicable ambience of the venue. The current laws allowing dogs in ‘outside’ eating areas but not ‘inside’ is farcical. Other societies accept it – what’s wrong with Australia? And for those customers who don’t like it, well they too have rights – the right to take their custom elsewhere. We are a free society, and in this case there are plenty of venues and locales to from which to choose. Caveat: dog owners should keep their companions under control – no feeding and not roaming free to irritate or bother patrons other dogs. A barking dog in doors? You’re barred! (i.e., the right to refuse entry extends to dogs as well as people).

Q: Any other comments you'd like to make?
A: NSW laws are far too restrictive on pet owners. Dogs should be able to be taken into pubs and cafes. It’s good for human interaction action with dogs, creates a friendly atmosphere and dogs get to spend time with their owners.
