Save Wentworth Park

We need to tell the government that Wentworth Park should be kept as an open space for people, not built over for profit.

The government and their developers are eyeing Wentworth Park for redevelopment as part of the Bays Precinct.

Please sign the petition to ask Premier Berejiklian to keep Wentworth Park safe from developers:

Dear Premier,

I urge you to protect Wentworth Park from development by handing it back to the City of Sydney, and expand recreation and sporting facilities in the area, which is already one of the most densely populated in Australia.

    The park should be public space. We needed it the greenery and outdoor exercise.


    The existing built Greyhound site should be a community facility for sports and meetings. Ideally I would like to see a public high school on site that uses the track/stadium for sports and operates until 3 pm whereupon the site is used by the community. There could even be greyhound racing on Saturday.


    The Department of Education is not yet building enough High School places, even by their own data. We need more than Cleveland Street and Alexandria Park.

    Wentworth Park belongs to us, NOT DEVELOPERS! Citizens are furious at the vandalism, corruption and selloff of assets by this State Government . You have no mandate for this. This is for people, not profit. No sell off of Wentworth Park. It’s OUR asset, not yours!

    I cannot believe that another public asset is being sold to the highest bidder – for them to line their own pockets. Tired of the policies: energy sell off = blackouts and higher prices; tunnel PPP’s go broke and I bail them out; more roads = more cars = more congestion = less lifestyle. Come on! When will you learn?
