Let the community decide

Join our Campaign to bring back our local councils!

Dear NSW Parliament,

We call on every NSW MP to commit to legislation that allows residents to vote in a binding de-merger plebiscite in any council that has been forced to merge by the Baird Government.

If a majority of residents support their council standing alone, then the law must provide for a council to be reinstated and a de-merger to occur at the soon as possible.

We make this demand because we believe that the community -- residents and local businesses-- not Mike Baird,  should decide the future of their local councils.

I was very happy with Leichhardt Council and would have preferred to see it continue as it was.

Surely there has to be a more equitable process than the one that has happened. Just ludicrous!

This is completely undemocratic and the fact it’s proposed for 18 months is unacceptable.

‘Out with bastard bully boy Baird and his corrupt mates. Only slight plus is, that snake in the grass Darcy Byrne and his collaborators got the chop as well. The community needs to know what happened and make sure none of the Quislings get re-elected. As you can tell I’m seething about this.

I want my freedom back to choose my local government. I want my premier to follow the rule of law. I want a premier that listens to the community – all communities not only the ones that serve the premiers interests!

Mike Baird you have not hit one of these points to date. You are a disgrace with what you have done! You have many depressed disgruntled and angry people talking in the streets and in the last 24 hours the intensity of hatred is duplicating at a rapid rate.

Baird you work for us not the developers, you do what we tell you to do not the developers!

    Immediately reverse your decision!

This State Government process of merging Councils has been dictatorial and stinks of something one would expect from a communist regime.
